Accountability, a lost but not forgotten friend

That's not me in that pic XD

It's my birthday today, and since I have this habit of reflecting on what I've learnt this past year, today's post will be about my latest lesson. Accountability.

Accountability is like that cool friend who keeps you honest and motivated, but instead of just encouraging you, it actually helps you LEVEL UP as a person. Think of it this way: when you're accountable, you're basically giving yourself a personal hype squad. Whether it's sticking to that workout routine, finally finishing that project, or just being kinder to yourself, accountability keeps you on track, and helps you learn from your mistakes.

But to me, it seems that many of us have forgotten about accountability, lately. It's a quite selfish world, and it's easier to blame others rather than be held accountable of our own actions. But if we don't learn from our mistakes and blame others for what is wrong with us, it’s way easier to lose our goals, ditch the healthy habits, or just plain forget what we are working towards. And let’s be real: sometimes, accountability is harder than trying to open a stubborn jar.

When you don’t have accountability pushing you, it’s like flying solo in a sky full of clouds—you might be soaring, but it’s also super easy to drift off course or lose sight of the bigger picture. Plus, there’s no one to celebrate your wins or call you out when you’re slacking, which can make progress feel pretty lonely.

So, if you’re feeling stuck or just want to avoid that “meh” feeling, remember: accountability isn’t just a buzzword. It’s your secret weapon to stay motivated, focused, and actually moving forward. Don’t let the lack of it hold you down—bring in that squad, that journal, or even a cute reminder on your phone, and watch yourself rise!

Still not me!
