5 brands that use recycled plastic to create fashion

Let's start by stating two facts. One is sad and the other one is promising. A. We polluted the planet with so much plastic, that we literally strangle the animals into extinction and B. Modern technologies  and innovation in recycling, made it easier than ever to collect and re-use this plastic, before it harms anymore.
These five brands bellow use those technologies and also try to clean the environment from plastic, while bringing us some very stylish items! Here's their stories in their own words (and their websites of course!)

1.Parley for the oceans (https://shop.parley.tv/)

Not really a fashion brand rather than an artists' collective,  Parley for the Oceans addresses major threats towards our oceans, the most important ecosystem of our planet. Through informative talks, projects with many artists' collaborations and a variety of products in their e-shop, Parley aims to accelerate the much needed process to clean the oceans.

2. Zero Waste Daniel (http://zerowastedaniel.com/)

Zero Waste Daniel is a New York based clothing designer and zero-waste lifestyle pioneer who uses pre-consumer waste sourced from New York City’s garment industry, as well as other hard-to-recycle materials, to create his line of genderless clothing and accessories. The brand also uses the least packaging they can, to avoid more pollution.

3. Patagonia ( www.patagonia.com/home/)

Did you know that this brand started using recycled material since the distant 80's. Right, let that sink in, in a time that we barely cared about environment,  their brand collected plastic ropes and fishnets floating in the ocean, to create fabrics for their athletic wear. Today they create  big variety of clothes and they still create athletic gear too.

4. Rubymoon (https://rubymoon.org.uk

Still on the athletic wear, RubyMoon combines the industry’s substantial potential to positively impact the social and environmental state of our planet, with the knowledge that women and innovation are key to a better future. Its founder, Jo, worked for 25 years in the unsustainable Fashion Industry, but decided to be part of the solution and founded the brand that uses recycled fabrics to create athletic and swim wear.

Sea2see brand collaborates with fishing communities in 27 ports of Spain and 10 coastal areas of Ghana in order to collect discarded marine plastic waste such as fishnets, ropes, lines, or bottles, and turn them into glasses -sunglasses and optical. In their website, one can see the amount of plastic they've collected so far.
