International women's day, a personal note

They say say she is bossy, because she knows how to get things done.

They say she's a whore, because she dared to enjoy her sexual life.

They say she is a bitch, because simply she can't and won't put up with anyone's shit.

There are so many slurs and ways to describe women that don't tick all the "nice girl's" boxes. In my life I had the privilege to be called some of them. And I call it a privilege, cause those names were like a badge of honour for me. For things I did my way and obviously nudged some people.

Like when they called me Marie Antoinette at a workplace, for standing firm in my position when they tried to take uncredited advantage of my work. Or like when I was called a Queen of Ice because I wasn't smiling that much - as if I was there to amuse them with my smile... They called me an ungrateful bitch for not doing what I was asked blindly. I was called ugly from people I've turned down -ehm, why did they ask me out in the first place?

But I didn't let myself feel hurt because of the insults. It meant that when gaslighting didn't work on me, so they resorted to harsher methods, like insults. But then they failed again, cause I had already found the secret weapon ALL women have inside them. And that is a talent to persevere!

To all the women out there, remember: You ARE strong. As king Mufasa once said: Remember who you are!

Happy Women's day!
